Her work in horror films has earned her the title the horror queen. The first time she was recognized for her work was her role as Marnie Michaels in the HBO comedy-drama program Girls (2012-2017) that earned her a Critics' Choice Award nomination. Rose Armitage played by her in the film Get Out was a breakthrough role that earned Rose nominations, among other awards from the MTV Movie Awards (2017) and Screen Actors Guild Awards (2017).
