Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to be awarded a perfect score of 10 points in the Olympic competition. Comaneci was spotted by Bela Karolyi, later to be the Romanian gymnastics coach at the time she was only six years old. First competing in the national junior championships in Romania in the year 1969, she finished 13th. In 1970, she the Romanian gymnast won. At her first international competition that was an Olympic-style junior preolympic competition that was open to countries of the communist bloc, she took home three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1975, she won awarded the All-around Junior Champion. At her first competition as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva who was a five-time European champion, winning four gold medals and one silver. The first female ever to successfully perform a backwards double salto when dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In her teens, Carol Wayne began working in the entertainment field by performing in the form of figure skater. Together with her younger brother Nina Wayne she was part of the traveling show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on 6th September 1942 in Chicago Illinois.
